A Recap on the 2022-23 School Year
This year was filled with many wonderful events and projects to raise money and improve the school.
Our annual Walkathon was held on October 6th. The students enjoyed a day of walking, biking and dancing to a DJ. We are so grateful to have raised nearly $85,000, an increase of $15,000 from the previous year! These funds were used to purchase new interactive screens for each classroom as well as fund teacher and classroom wishlist items. Thank you to all students, parents, teachers and staff who helped reach this goal.
The 5 classrooms that raised the most money earned an ice cream party as well as $500 to spend on classroom items. Second place classrooms also earned $500. Third place classrooms earned $250. Congratulations to all winners!
Beginning in the Fall, FOSW invested to reignite Skinner's sport programs. Some of the investment was for basketball uniforms, track uniforms and other much needed equipment.
In the Winter, FOSW held our annual Holiday Giving Drive. We connected with 20 Skinner Superstars in need to provide donated gifts of warm clothing and gifts for the holiday season.
In the Spring , FOSW helped host the Gallery 111 annual gala. A fun night was had in our speakeasy themed event held at The Roar downtown. We raised nearly $70,000 for Skinner arts programming with our silent auction. See our Gallery for photos!
Near the end of the school year, our 4th grade students enjoyed planting flowers and veggies in the outdoor classroom space that we completed last year.
Looking forward, FOSW board is working with school administration on Gym updates and upgrades! More to come!
